Feels so good to be back. I know if I am at least helping one of you my job is done, so when I am not here or doing anything that I love I get a little cranky lol... Anyways what better way to come back on Mommy Mondays and tell you why I have been slacken!! So during the snow storm my youngest son caught a really bad cold and was very sick. So taking care of him was a challenge because we have a newborn baby as well. So trying to comfort him but keep our distance is hard. During that weekend my daughter who is a newborn starting coughing and a few days later she had high fever and a really bad cough. Even though none of us really could have prevented this as much as we tried but I still felt like I failed somehow. I take her and her brother tuesday to our doctor and I could not explain to you the feeling I felt that day.
By the way our family doctor is AMAZING!!! His name is DR. Simon Fensterszaub
Quality Health Center in Williamsburg Brooklyn.
432 Bedford Ave
Brooklyn Ny 11249
So back to what happened. He checks Tristan and he's great just is getting over a bad cold. Now when he checks Khloe she has 100.2 fever and he tells me I don't have much good news for you. I literally almost fainted. He goes on by saying that fever in newborns are not good at all and it is definitely something that can be very serious. I am going to check her urine here to see if she doesn't have a urine infection but if she does I can treat her for it here if she doesn't and her fever goes up immediately take her to the ER because it could be serious like meningitis and thats something we want to treat ASAP. So after having a melt down I called my best friend (LOVE U LINETTE!!!) and as always she calms me down and tells me to stay positive. I am glad she was there because I have to explain something to you all...lol I love my boys but something about having my daughter I just cant explain, my connection with her is sooooo deep and it's the best feeling in the world to have her to complete my family. So I go home and monitor her temperature and in a few hours it went up to 102 and thats when my lovely mother (LOVE U MOM) came to our rescue and took us to Cohen Medical Hospital. That is the best hospital for children EVER!!!! They are awesome, I have no complaints. They took every test on her and I had to be strong and watch her get a catheter, and a IV. It was hard, I could never do it with my boys but I had to for my girl. The nurses guided me the whole way and I am so proud of my Khloe. She was a trooper and I definitely saw that she will be like me. She didn't even cry she just made a noise and looked at the nurse like owwww lady!!! lol. It was a connection with my daughter I am grateful for. I was right by her side the whole way and I want her to know that I will always be there until there is no breath in me. She ended up just having a viral infection and the doctors told me to keep her on saline drops in the nose and use the saline in my asthma machine to help break up her mucus in her chest. I am very happy to say no fevers and her cough is 80% better. She is doing so well and I pray everyday and thank God we are good. So I am sorry everyone that was waiting for my blogs. I will only stop working when I need to be there for my family if not then I will always be working..lol I am sure you all can understand and I am ready to write because I have a lot to write about...lol... Sorry this blog is posted up late, had so much catching up to do. Stay tune for Wisdom Wednesday!!!
OH 1 TIP FOR YOU MOMS OUT THERE!!!
My awesome doctor recommended a while ago the skin to skin contact brings down fevers and I can honestly say it does. I did it a few times and it works. So if your baby has a fever get them naked, take off your shirt and bra and just lay them on your chest. Enjoy that time with your baby. Close your eyes and let your energy and love through them. I cant express how wonderful it is. Hope this helps!!
