My goodness I have to make this brief because I can go on forever with my story.
9/11/2007 Nathaniel was born :)
I was in labor for a little over 24 hours. My doctor tried to induce my labor a little and I only dilated 2 centimeters. Eventually to have Nathaniel born safe we ruled out that C-Section was the best option. but oh did I go through some harsh Contractions!!! The most scariest part was going into the surgery room. First let me say I have always had a problem with medication. Medication was never strong enough for me. I have taken strong medications and they wouldn't effect me the way they would others. so my biggest fear was being under local anesthesia because the fear of feeling everything. Anyways they gave me epidural the first time and it helped with the contractions a bit. When I went into the surgical room they gave me another dose and when I laid down one of the doctors took the surgical knife and lightly pressed on my leg and asked if I felt that. I said yea, he asked pressure or sharp? I said sharp. They gave me a little more of epidural or something because I began to shake and feel an overwhelming pressure in my head. I was begging them to pick me up. When they realized what was happening they told me to relax a bit. At that moment I was so scared and very drugged that I wasnt able to focus much. The doctor came back and said he needed to give me a few shots in my spine to assure that I won't feel anything when they go in and take the baby out. So about 5-8 shots I remember feeling and I promise you I fell down to the bed. I was definitely numb at that pint..lol.. I was still really drugged that I just remember trying to stay up just to hear my baby boys cry. Oh my when I heard his cry. It was the most amazing thing ever, I was crying and trying to stay up. All I remember was his father bringing him to me and showing me his beautiful face. I kissed him and knocked out. When I woke up I was in a room alone with a nurse and remember asking her where my baby was and she said they needed to watch me for a little bit and then they were going to take me to a room. I remember after 30 minutes I was getting very impatient and upset because all I wanted to see was my baby. I remember then his father came in with a huge smile on his face to see that I was ok. I kept asking where Nathaniel was and he said that they were checking him, and bathing him and getting my room ready. I was so anxious. The pain that I was in was extreme but I was able to handle it. I can tolerate pain really well so it was hard but it wasn't impossible. I didn't produce enough milk to feed him so I had to do both breast feeding and formula. My stay in the hospital was great and I had wonderful nurses. My Doctor is Dr. Knight Debrady. Let me just say SHE IS THE BEST!!! I trust none else. She is wonderful, understanding and knows her stuff. The hospital I stayed in was Jamaica Queens hospital. They are amazing in that hospital. Well the ER sucks but most hospitals have not so good ER departments..lol. If you need a GYN doctor look up DR. Debrady. She is worth it. I live an hour and 30 min away and she is honestly worth it. Everything I went through I don't regret because Nathaniel is here healthy and beautiful.
